GHMC as a part of its city beautification program has envisaged raising about 8.00 lakh seedlings as Avenue, Open Space, Nalas and Tank-foreshore plantations before October 2008 ( of which, a total of 4.00 lakhs will be raised as Avenue Plantations with Tree guards)

In addition, development of new parks and adorning the existing ones with fountains, children’s play equipment, Furniture, dustbins etc., including their maintenance and a host of other innovative programs are on the anvil. All done to touch the lives of all age groups; to give children their right to healthy entertainment, to render senior citizens with peaceful getaways, to provide great escapes for the working class and spectacular sights to the nature lovers. Besides preserving the quality of environment by preventing soil erosion, contributing to rainfall and other associated objectives.
